Screen time, earned.

Healthy Limit is a wrist band for kids. Steps, play and sleep add points. Time on a phone spends them. At zero, the phone locks until they get moving again.

Watch a day add up.

This is Maya's Tuesday. She's ten. Drag through her day, or turn off soccer practice to see how much earlier her phone would lock.

Maya's point balance from 6:30 am to 10 pm.

    What earns, what spends.

One point is one minute of screen time. Parents set every exchange rate in the Healthy Limit app; these are the starting values.

Healthy Limit started as software that linked a kid's Fitbit to their screen time, with rules like 100 steps for 1 minute and 30 minutes of sleep for 5. The band is built around those same rules.

    Zero points. Phone locked.

No countdown warnings to argue with and no parent playing referee. When the balance hits zero, fun apps stop, and the band shows exactly how to earn them back.

    • Family can always be reachedCalls and messages with parents, and emergency calls, work at any balance.
    • Homework stays openSchool apps and anything else you approve never cost points.
    • Moving unlocks itNew points land within seconds of a walk or a game of tag, and the phone opens again on its own.

    Our vision

Kids shouldn't have to choose between their phone and their health. We want the phone to become the reason they move.

Healthy Limit is building toward a generation that treats activity and sleep as the things that unlock everything else, and learns that habit before the teenage years.

    Move first, scroll second

Screen time stops being a default and becomes a reward. The order of the day flips on its own.

    Rules kids can see

The balance lives on their wrist. Kids learn to budget time the way they'll one day budget money.

    Parents stop being the referee

Set the rules once, together. After that the band keeps score, and the arguments about "five more minutes" go away.

From an app to a band.

Healthy Limit started in San Francisco to fix two problems at once: kids who don't move enough and kids who don't sleep enough.

    1. 2018

Healthy Limit launches as an app that connects a kid's Fitbit to their phone, turning steps and sleep into minutes of screen time.

    2. Today

We're designing our own band for kids' wrists, built around points from the start, with the balance right on the display.
